Rhys Darby Brings His Mr Adventure Tour To Newcastle's Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre
You may recognise New Zealand born comedian and actor Rhys Darby as Murray , the band’s manager from Flight of The Concords or even from movies like Yes Man or The Boat That Rocked. Yet Darby is much more than that, he is coming to the Mill Volvo Theatre in Newcastle on Thursday 16 July to show us he is Mr Adventure.
Following the success of his 2012 tour based on the ‘end of the world’ Darby is back to spin the yarn. Telling tales of the Loch Ness Monster, gun-toting Texas, the misty mountains of Rwanda and some of the biggest malls in the world, Darby will also tell the account of his climb of Mt Kilimanjaro in 2013 with other well-known faces. Mr Adventure is a hilarious look at Darby becoming a Kiwi version of Indiana Jones.
Since starting out working with Flight of The Concords in 2004, he has made a big name for himself in the world of comedy. You can’t get better praise than Jim Carrey saying, “He has the madness of Peter Sellers inside him.” Comedy website Chortle gave him a four-star rating and commented: “Godspeed time-travelling disco soldier.”
Now living in LA, Darby has appeared in TV shows such as How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family and even panel shows like QI.
