The Wombats to play Newcastle's O2 Academy to round off 2015 UK tour
The Wombats have announced a UK tour in April next year and they’ll be rounding it off at Newcastle’s O2 Academy.
The Liverpudlian trio have been fairly quiet since the release of their second studio album The Modern Glitch in 2011, but next year looks to be an exciting one for them. Although nothing has been officially announced, the band have hinted that album number three is well on its way.
This year, The Wombats were one of 16 UK bands to receive government funding in order to progress with their music as part of the Music Export Growth Scheme. Each band involved was given a share of £250,000 to help increase their international music sales.
The tour will kick off in Bristol on April 8 and they will play seven further venues across the country before finishing the string of dates in Newcastle.
