The Imitation Game, The Grand Budapest Hotel and American Snipper among nominations for the 87th Oscars

The nominees for the 87th Oscar Award Ceremony were released today (January 15). Presented by Chris Pine, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Alfonso Cuarón and J.J. Abrams, the films that received the most nominations were:

The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was nominated for 9 Oscars including Best Picture, Directing and Costume Design.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) which was nominated for 9 Oscars including Sound Editing, Cinematography and Writing (Original Screenplay).

The Imitation Game which is up for 8 Oscars including Best Picture, Film Editing and Production Design.

Film director Alejandro G. Iñárritu received a nomination for best director for Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), which is also up for Best Picture. Felicity Jones and Rosamund Pike were among the nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role, while Benedict Cumberbatch and Bradley Cooper made the list for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
