Tyneside to host BBC 6 Music festival
Newcastle and Gateshead have been selected to host the second BBC Radio 6 Music festival next month (February 20-22).
The line-up includes The War on Drugs, The Fall and Maximo Park who will feature during the two day festival.
The War on Drugs, whose second album Lost In The Dream was named 6 Music’s album of 2014, will headline at Newcastle’s O2 academy on Friday February 20, along with Interpol and Sleater-Kinney .
On Saturday, the festival will move to Sage Gateshead and will feature Hot Chip plus The Fall, Jungle, Maximo Park, Father John Misty, Ghostpoet, Villagers and Ibibio Sound Machine.
Sunday will see music from 2014 Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers and The Charlatans, Neneh Cherry, Wire, Jon Hopkins and Lonelady.
This is the second BBC 6 Music festival, last year’s was held in Manchester.
Tickets prices range between £15-£35 and go on sale this Friday (January 30) and Saturday (January 31).
