Grungy brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless have been fairly quiet since their burst of festival appearances last summer, but at long last Drenge have announced their second album, Undertow, and a UK tour to go with it. They’ll be playing up a storm at the Sage in Gateshead on April 13.

The duo recently made their US TV debut where they were joined by new bassist Rob Graham, who also recorded with them on three of Undertow’s tracks. They performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, a stage that’s seen some of the biggest music stars in the world, and the prestigious host was impressed to say the least.

Their self-titled debut album, released in August 2013, not only received raving reviews from music critics but famously appealed to Labour MP Tom Watson.

Seeing Drenge in the sophisticated halls of The Sage will certainly make a change from the rowdy festival tents and dingy venues they seem so at home in.

Undertow’s lead single, We Can Do What We Want, has been uncovered online, and the band will play nine dates across the country following the album’s release date on April 6.

Drenge play The Sage, Gateshead on April 13. Doors 8.00. Tickets £12.00 – on sale now.
