North East based artist Michael Mulvihill presents his work in The Means and The Instruments in the project space at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art until the end of February.

Whilst in residency at Northumbria University, Mulvihill created a series of drawings based on the Vulcan XL319 aircraft which now resides at North East Land, Sea and Air Museum in Sunderland.

Mulvihill’s work is centred on personal anecdotes of his youth and the history of the Cold War which is then attached to his drawings.

The event runs alongside the opening of NGCA’s The Decorator and The Thief. The event is free to the public and light refreshments are also available throughout the two exhibits on show.

The Means and The Instruments is on display until the February 28 2015 in the Project Space at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, above the city library.
