Pop Recs announces new gigs for February and March

Little Comets

Pop Recs announced yesterday (February 3), that three gigs will take place in February and March. The record store, designed and ran by Sunderland natives Frankie & The Heartstrings, is a music hub for the locals and is popular not only as an independent record store and coffee shop, but as a live music venue too.

Indie rock trio Little Comets will be performing their new album Hope Is Just A State Of Mind in store on February 17. The band will deliver an acoustic set, that is said to be a popular one, fans are encouraged to arrive earlier than the 5:30PM start time. Their album is released on February 16 and the Pop Recs gig is one of few intimate shows before embarking on a UK tour, which ends with a homecoming gig on March 14 at Newcastle’s O2 Academy.

Bristolian band Spectres will also grace the Pop Recs stage on February 25 and introduce their debut album Dying. The album is available for pre-order along with the single Where Flies Sleep, which is available on iTunes now. The self-confessed “loud” band are guaranteed to bring an exciting show to the store which will start at 5:30PM.

Dutch Uncles will make an appearance on March 1 at 6PM to celebrate the release of their debut album, O, Shudder on February 23. The new wave, alternative act will be playing dates across the UK in 2015 and stopping by Pop Recs as part of their In N Out Store Tour.

All gigs are free to attend.
