Jason Rhoades, Four Roads comes to BALTIC
Jason Rhoades’ work comes to the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead across its two largest floors next month.
The Californian artist passed away in 2006 at just 41 and this will be the first major exhibition of a collection of his work spanning several years.
Jason Rhoades, Four Roads is a set of four exhibitions connected by four ‘roads,’ all with different themes and personal meanings behind them for viewers to explore. The show is being supported by a number of big-name institutes such as the Henry Moore foundation, the Institute of Contemporary Art and the University of Pennsylvania to highlight the popularity of Rhoades’ work on the art scene. His work is held across the world in a variety of galleries with a major collection in Miami.
Jason Rhoades, American Artist, Jason the Mason, Systems and Taboo will be at the Baltic for several months. The work can often be seen as overloaded and he is best known for his use of neon colours mixed with vibrant and random objects.
