Glass Animals come to Newcastle's Riverside
Oxford indie outfit Glass Animals are touring the UK next month and they’ll bring their experimental live show to Newcastle’s Riverside on March 6.
Their debut album, Zaba, was released in June last year, and received outstanding reviews from the likes of Paste, NME and Clash. It was particularly successful in Australia – the leading single, Gooey, made it to number 12 in Triple J’s prestigious Hot 100 chart in 2014.
The band are signed to Wolf Tone, a label started by producer Paul Epworth, who has worked with a flurry of majorly successful artists including Adele, Florence and The Machine and Friendly Fires.
They will also be at the eagerly-anticipated 6Music Festival in Tyneside before their 24 date tour in the UK and across Europe.
Glass Animals take inspiration from all kinds of musical paths, from soaring psychedelia to sultry soul to eccentric synth-pop, and seeing the album brought to life at Riverside should be interesting to say the least.
