After not releasing any new material for two years, The Castells are back with two new tracks for 2015.

The new tracks, Shake The Reins and Caught Up On The Tracks, were recorded by Ousburne Valley’s Blank Studios.

On January 6 The Castells declared that they were back, as they supported Hazels at THINK TANK? January 7 in the run up to their new track release.

Castells talked to Northern Lights about there new tracks and playing together once again – “The long break has done us good, we’ve found our sound with the new tracks and it’s the kind of music we’ve always wanted to make much bigger and heavier rock n roll. For these two tracks we’ve dropped one guitar leaving Sam to focus on his melodies and vocals which we think has benefited us massively. Rather than release a single, we wanted to get these tracks out there ASAP and make them as readily available as possible on soundcloud, YouTube, spotify etc, just to let people know we were back playing together again.”

“We’ve got rid of all of the old stuff and already have more than a full set of new songs, so keep an eye out for them when we decide what to release next. We played our first gig back at think tank for Hazel’s single launch who are really good mates of ours. It was a quality night and we enjoyed playing the new songs to people. The feedback was all good although we knew ourselves that we were a bit rusty at times! We’re more critical of ourselves than anyone but were happy overall with the set. We’ll be announcing more dates soon via Facebook.”

The four piece band have truly shown that they are back, bigger and better than before. With their Brit pop tracks and The Libertines esque vibes, their music are something that should not be missed.

The Castells will be playing Newcastle’s THINK TANK? on March 12, with support from Cold Ocean Lies.

Keep a look out for ticket information.
