NME Awards Tour returns to Newcastle's O2 Academy
Having played a crucial role in launching the careers of Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and Coldplay, the NME Awards Tour returns to Newcastle for it’s 20th anniversary on February 21.
A pivotal part in setting the music agenda for the coming year, indie-rock quartet Palma Violets will top 2015’s bill, with support from Austin Texas, Fat White Family, The Amazing Snakeheads and Slaves.
The annual tour will begin in Sheffield on February 19, stopping off in Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, Oxford, Birmingham, Bristol and Portsmouth before a final gig in on March 4 at The Forum in Kentish Town, North London.
The music magazine’s awards tour line-up looks like it could be a serious hell-raiser this year, with its array of indie scuzz, punk fervour and rock hellfire.
