Heading directly for our planet is the latest release from Dreamworks Animation, the studio responsible for bringing Shrek, Madagascar and How To Train Your Dragon to our screens and our hearts.

Home is an animated comedy based on Adam Rex’s book The True Meaning of Smekday.

When Oh,a loveable and intelligent member of alien race The Boov  is arrested and banished to Earth, he forms an unlikely friendship with a human girl named Tip.

Together, the pair attempts to evade capture from the alien species while simultaneously trying to save Earth from a greater intergalactic threat.

The studio will be bringing Rex’s creation to life with an all-star cast, made up of Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Steve Martin and Jim Parsons. Judging by the trailer, Parsons provides Oh with the same style of neurotic humour that he delivers weekly as the beloved Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory.

The film crash lands into cinemas on March 28.
