Should you be excited for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided?
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was announced earlier at E3 this year and plenty people are getting excited as they are long term fans, but for new fans who are just getting into it, you might need to know a little bit about it before you can jump on the hype train, so hopefully this can help you decide.
The latest Deus Ex, Deus Ex: Mankind divided, is the new and upcoming cyberpunk-themed action role-playing video game developed by Edios Montreal and published by Square Enix. The game combines first-person shooting, stealth and RPG elements and is a sequel to the 2011 Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It is set two years after Human Revolution and features the return of Adam Jensen, the mechanically enhanced ex-cop, with new technology and body augments.
15 years after the launch of the original Deus Ex, Square Enix announced at E3 2015 that a new game is coming to the franchise next year. Mankind divided is shown to be an open world game set in the year 2029, and will allow the decisions of the player to change the ending of the game. This will allow the ending to be different for multiple people. This, in theory, will also allow for more replay value and will allow more continuous playthroughs of the game by the same person.
Human Revolution, released in 2011, is a very thorough game that mixes philosophy, politics and science together in an amazing story and can really make the player thing about the consequences and harmful effects of an increasingly tech-dependent world. The thought provoking story and the superb and dynamic stealth action gameplay really gel together to create the amazing Deus Ex: Human Revolution and people expect no less of the new Mankind Divided.
Mankind Divided appears as though it looks to continue these themes as it is once again putting players in control of the serious ex-cop, Adam Jensen. He will try to make sense of the separation of people that has occurred due to the new two classes of people, augmented people and non-augmented people. The developer Edios Montreal has promised a game where choice is a massive part and choice is key and where there will be ‘a meaningful consequence to every action and choice you make’. The greater selection of gameplay mechanics, improved dialogue options and the ability to complete the game conflict-free shows great promise of a phenomenal gameplay experience that will definitely shine and stand out in today’s triple A industry.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was far better than anyone expected it to be at the time and really shocked the fans newcomers of the game franchise alike. It was made in 2007 which many critics will agree was the best age of video games as shortly after nearly all of the types if games whether it be RPGs or strategy were turning into basic linear shooter.
Instead of a dumb FPS, Human Revolution was an expert blend of story, role-playing, action and stealth. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided sees the same team of creators emboldened by their success and working on an even grander scale.
