Sneak Peek: Halo Wars 2 reveal trailer
We review the first snippet of the Halo Wars 2 trailer.
Halo Wars 2 was revealed at Gamescom this year and will be coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 in fall 2016.
From what we can see from the trailer it appears that Spartan Red team have been ambushed and Douglas -042 has been wounded and seen being dragged along by a Alice -130 while Jerome -092 request for an evacuation. Douglas is seen firing his weapon at an unseen enemy off screen while flashbacks occurring seem to indicate that the Spirit of Fire had been boarded by Brutes for as of yet unknown reasons.
It is revealed that Douglas likely tried to engage a brute in hand to hand combat but ultimately lost. After the flashbacks end, Douglas lets his arm go limp as he runs out of ammo and at the same time we hear other voices in the background; likely other UNSC marines.
From within the darkness a red light materialises into what appears to be an energy mace wielded by a brute from which the light illuminates him as he proclaims: “Run, run little demons!” before the screen goes black and the game title appears.
Finally the trailer ends with the brute giving orders to hunt ‘them’ down. It is currently unknown what the story will be about and while gameplay wasn’t shown we can only assume that it will follow a similar style that was used in the first game, but possibly with new features.
Needless to say, the fans are looking forward to this as Creative Assembly is making this game, and that the first one came out back in 2009.
So far, nothing else has been revealed about the game other than the fact that this will be the first mainstream Halo game to be released on PC since Halo 2 Vista came out in 2004. Even the fans of the lore are excited about seeing the Spartans of Red team again as they are only a few of the remaining Spartan 2 characters currently still alive and active; at least they will be happy to see James Cutter again as his son was featured in Halo Escalation!
