One of the UK’s leading urban artists will be performing at Newcastle’s O2 Academy on April 30, thanks to 19-year old Jason Blackburn from Hartlepool.

The one-off concert will be one of Wretch 32’s first performances in more than two years and his supporting acts will be Bugzy Malone and Ex on the Beach’s Ashley Cain.

After researching Wretch 32 and contacting his agent to explore the possibility of putting on an event, Jason got the green light and secured the the O2 Academy for the concert.

Jason said: “Ticket sales are already going well so I’d urge anyone who’s interested to book up fast before they all sell out.

“This is a one off event from the artist and not to be missed after his previous performances at Wireless Festival and Space in Ibiza.”

The industrious youngster, who has already had success in his teenage years playing for Carlisle United FC, decided to turn his hand to the music industry and begin attracting more international stars to the region.

“I am always thinking of the next idea and what I can do that will attract attention to the region”, Jason added. “Setting up my own business and turning my attention to music is really what I’m passionate about.

“I started with a concert in my own hometown of Hartlepool last year and realised that with the correct formula of putting these events together I could put on more around the North East.”

The entrepreneurial teen, who also works part-time as a gym instructor,  already has his sights set on more new acts to bring to the region and is in talks with a number of management companies.
