Preview: London Has Fallen

2nd March 2016 Off By Daniela Ralu Nastase

Starring big names such as Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman and Aaron Eckhart, this action movie has a promising trailer to show them off.

London Has Fallen is the sequel of Olympus Has Fallen with majority of the cast starring in both movies, with a slight difference – the director for London Has Fallen is Babak Najafi, rather than better known American director Antoine Fuqua.

The opening scene of the trailer shows all leaders of the world attending the funeral of the British Prime Minister. The movie concentrates on the American side of events: call to arms to protect the president of the United States of America, the most powerful man on Earth. It seems to be the typical Hollywood movie, putting in the centre of action the American president with little concern regarding the other leaders.

The trailer follows Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), a secret service agent trusting no one and putting himself in danger in order to protect the U.S. president Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) from the bad guys.

London Has Fallen is expected to be more than the average action movie if put in the context of nowadays terrorism crisis. The refusal to surrender the president of United States is a call to arm to fight for freedom. Few short sequences underline the importance of not giving in to the terrorists or survive them, but rather defeat them all.

You can see London Has Fallen from March 3 at Empire Sunderland, Cineworld – Boldon Tyne & Wear and ODEON Silverlink.
