PREVIEW: X-Men: Apocalypse

13th May 2016 Off By Viv Lecher

Marvel comes back to the big screen this May 18 for the release of the new X-Men: Apocalypse film.

Since the release of the first trailer late last year, talk has been on whether director Bryan Singer can uphold the solid reputation he made with the previous critically acclaimed blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past film.

But he looks in good stead as the trailer, set in the early 1980’s, shows the X-Men having their biggest battle yet against Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac), the first and most powerful mutant of all time. Worshipped as a God, this immortal and invincible mutant attempts to drive the human race to extinction and create a new world, with only Professor Xavier’s team standing in his way.

It will also mark the last time that fan favourite Hugh Jackson joins James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence as Wolverine, making this his last ever X-Men movie.
