The Founder – Preview

13th February 2017 Off By Alexander Beard

February 17, 2017 will see the release of the Michael Keaton-starring The Founder, the story of the fast food phenomenon known as McDonalds.

Keaton plays the part of Ray Kroc, a travelling salesman who meets the McDonald brothers Richard and Maurice (Nick Offerman, John Carroll) and convinces them to franchise their small diner, eventually transforming the company into the first and biggest fast food restaurant in the world.

The career revival of Keaton, which began with 2014’s Birdman and continued with Spotlight in 2015, looks set to continue in this riveting, biographical drama. If you’ve ever wondered how McDonald’s got to be so big then make sure you don’t miss this one.

John Lee Hancock Jr. (The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) directs for the first time in three years, while Robert D. Siegel (The Wrestler, Turbo) has writing credits. The critical response in America has been largely positive, and the trailer looks extremely promising.
