13th February 2017 Off By Stacey McMaster

We all know that music is the food of love ,however it is a fine line between good and cheesy. Therefore, here at Northern Lights we have come up with some good music that you can actually listen to without cringing too much.

1.Little Mix feat. Jason Derulo – ‘Secret Love Song’:

Our first on the list for this Valentine’s Day is Little Mix’s ft Jason Derulo which hit number six on the UK charts. This pairing started off after the group’s cover of Derulo’s 2015 single “Want to Want Me”.

2.Shawn Mendes – Treat You Better:

This song of trying to help the one you love peaked at number six on US Billboard Hot 100.

3.Ed Sheeran – Shape of you:

He’s back at last! He had re-emerged on twitter after a dry spell of social media teasing us with new music. He didn’t disappoint either and has released a number of new songs and our favourite for this Valentine’s is Shape of you.

4.John Legend – Love Me Now:

This song’s music video shows that love is universal and across culture. There were 35,000 copies sold in its first week.

5.Train – Play That Song:

From their tenth album Play that song is an extremely catchy tune that we couldn’t pass up. Even after twenty years  they still produce great music that earned two Grammy awards in 2002.

6.Zayn, Taylor Swift – I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker):

The first fifty shades of Grey movie were illustrated by Ellie Golding, Love me like you do. These soundtracks actually lighten up these rather dark movies.

7.DJ Snake – Let Me Love You ft. Justin Bieber:

The first music produced by DJ Snake was a hit it seems as it made it onto our list for this valentine. Justin Bieber covers the vocals on this track.

8.James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go:

This last Valentine’s song is a beautiful ballad to round off the evening. This song takes place from the beginning of a relationship until the end, all sung beautifully.
