The Newcastle Stand will add another string to their already-burgeoning comedic bow next month with the launch of a brand new panel show hosted by surreal comedian and venue favourite Seymour Mace.

The show, titled ‘Questionable Time’, will launch on Sunday February 16 at 7pm, and will feature a hilarious cocktail of improvisation and pre-planned rounds.

Speaking to comedy website Giggle Beats Seymour Mace said: “It’ll have rounds and triggers to get people talking about stupid stuff, and once you get good comedians talking about stupid stuff you don’t need to do much else. It tends to be funny.”

Mace, former star of BBC Three comedy-drama Ideal, already hosts the Giggle Beats Comedy Quiz on the first Sunday of every month, and his latest gig will mean regulars to The Stand will be seeing a lot more of him, with the comedian set to appear at the venue at least fortnightly.

He said: “With The Stand opening, the comedy scene in Newcastle has taken an upturn. That was a big draw [for me] to move back to Newcastle.”

Questionable Time launches at The Stand Comedy Club on Sunday 16th February. 7pm. Tickets £5/£4.
