Russell Kane

Award-winning comedian and television favourite Russell Kane is set to play an intimate work-in-progress gig at Barnard Castle this summer for Funny Way to Be Comedy Club.

The extravagant comic will appear at the newly-refurbished Witham Hall on Saturday June 7th as he tests out brand new material ahead of a national tour in 2015. Kane’s show at Barnard Castle marks the latest in a succession of impressive coups for the comedy club, after Hebburn Star Chris Ramsay and nationally-loved funnyman Russell Howard played for them in 2013.

Peter Dixon, of Funny Way to Be Comedy Club, said: “We are delighted to have Russell Kane perform for us as he prepares for his next show. I was thrilled when Russell got in touch himself having heard good things about our previous shows. The evening is going to be an intimate experience and a great chance for his fans in the North East to see him in a much smaller venue than he usually performs in.”

Winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2010, Kane has firmly established himself as one of the top comics in the UK, featuring regularly on popular television panel shows such as ‘Celebrity Juice’ and ‘8 out of 10 Cats’, as well as hosting his own BBC Three show ‘Live at the Electric’, which this month returned to our screens for a third season.

Russell Kane plays Witham Hall on Saturday 7th of June. Tickets £15
