Newcastle Con – Explosion Of Japanese Culture Comes To Eldon Square

Newcastle Con is a new Japanese culture convention open to everyone who is interested in anime, Japanese culture and those simply wanting to experience something unusual.

The weekend convention aims to attract everyone from families to fans of Cosplay to come together and celebrate Japan’s vast culture. As well as showcase Newcastle’s local shops, groups and individuals involved in promoting Japanese sports, traditions and past times.

Some of the conventions highlights include a demonstration by Northumbria Kedo Club, guest appearances by American voice actors Kyle Herbert and Patrick Seitz, cosplay and skit competitions, a tea lecture by Tea Sutra and live music from The River Verses. Plus everyone who buys a ticket will be put into lucky dip draw for £60 worth of goodies, including a signed poster and collectable model.

Newcastle Con will take place at Eldon Leisure in Eldon Square Newcastle on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th March. 10am until 6pm. Weekend ticket for adults £20 , £15 for under 16’s and free entry from under 10’s.
