Watchdogs

After leaving both casual gamers and experts awe-stuck at the E3 2012 conference, (ahead of an alleged November 2013 release), Ubisoft broke the hearts of gamers worldwide be knocking back the release date of techno-noir sandbox hack-em-up Watchdogs to 2014.

However, the disappointment of having it removed from all the next-gen consoles pre-order bundles, means that it’s allowed more improvements to be made to the title that wowed gamers some 24 months ago.

The open world title, set in an ultra realistic future Chicago, allows players to take on the identity of Aiden Pearce. Pearce, a sort of digital vigilante, can hack into various electronic devices tied to the city’s central operating system (CtOS), providing the player with various methods for solving objectives. You can hack into people’s phones to retrieve bank data and steal funds, trigger malfunctions in equipment to distract other characters, and even hack into traffic lights to cause collisions.

Sort of like Grand Theft Auto for the Snapchat generation.

Watchdogs is released for XBox, Playstation, Wii U and PC on Tuesday 27 May
