Gavin Webster

Since the bygone days of The Stand’s opening in Autumn 2011, there has been one stalwart of a man whose comedy residency will forever have a place in The Stand’s Hall of Fame. However, that man’s much-loved topical reviews are coming to an end next week, as the final ever Gavin Webster Comedy Show has been announced.

Monday 2 June sees the last installment feature a who’s who and what’s what in Northumbria. As it’s the final show there will be top guests, stand-up and the best ever meat based competition prize! (I wonder if there will be a vegetarian option?)

Gavin Webster, the man Ross Noble has described as “like a cross between Bill Hicks and Jeff from Byker Grove,” will continue to drop in on his Stand family for one off performances, but his next big project is a run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The Gavin Webster Comedy Show will be at The Stand Newcastle on Monday 2 June. 7pm. Tickets £6.
