Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing  has captivated British audiences since Baby carried the watermelons, and now the fastest selling UK stage production is dancing its way to Sunderland’s Empire Theatre.

The show will run from January 27 until February 14, with the iconic heart-pounding music, forbidden romance and some pretty sexy dancing live on stage.

Johnny Castle – one of the most iconic roles in culture – will be played by Gareth Bailey. Gareth has been with the production for many years, starting out as Robbie in the first UK tour. He then went on to play the pivotal role in South Africa, before joining the West End production.

Roseanna Frascona will be avoiding all corners as Baby Houseman. Roseanna has been in many productions including the international tour of The Taming of the Shrew and the classic Greek tragedy Antigone. The vivacious Penny Johnson will be played by Claire Rogers. No stranger to musicals, Claire has previously appeared in Dirty Dancing, Chicago and the Moulin Rouge.

Tickets are available now from Sunderland’s Empire Theatre.
