Lisbon to headline first o2 Academy Newcastle gig

With 2014 being full of highs for Whitley Bay’s Lisbon, the lads look likely to top the past twelve months with the release of their Life Is Good EP, supporting Little Comets on their upcoming tour and headlining their first gig in Newcastle’s o2 Academy. Having started 2015 recording in Rockfield Studios, previously used by Kasabian, Paulo Nutini and Oasis, among a string of musical legends. The band are in good company as they strive to capitalise on the momentum created by their breakthrough Blue Love single, and the fantastic tracks that followed, Rio and Native – each of which played by BBC Radio One.

The Facebook page for one of the regions most exciting bands to watch is indicative of their own excitement leading up to their first headline show in their biggest venue within Newcastle yet, where they’ll be supported by Para Alta and Wake. The quartet always bring their A game to sets, which has seen them pick up acclaim nationwide. With Varty’s strong vocals backed by Joe, Alex and Gaz’s impeccable instrumentation, you do not want to miss out Lisbon’s latest step on the ladder to success, of which they are climbing at an alarming rate.

With new music recorded in Wales being teased on social media to be mixed with their already solid set lists, which typically include fan favourites Liberty City and Khaleesi, the o2 Academy crowd are almost guaranteed a night to remember come saturday night.
