Durham Film Festival returns
The Durham Film Festival returns between February 20-21 for a fourth year, to exhibit some of the best student and professional films from around the country.
Run by the Durham Student Film Society, the festival is not simply screenings and awards. The second day is filled with workshops from industry professionals on screenwriting, camera work and editing.
Last year, Academy Award winner Chris Menges, who won the Oscar for Best Cinematography for both The Mission (1986) and The Killing Fields (1984), ran one of the many workshops available to attend.
Last year’s winners included short films Rocket Boy (Best Film), Directionless (Best Documentary), and Orpheus (Best Editing).
The festival takes place at Caedmon Hall, College of St Hilde and St Bede, Durham University.
