Blackhat is an American action thriller, directed by Michael Mann, who brought hit films such as Miami Vice and Hancock to the big screen.

An unexpected explosion occurs at a nuclear plant in Chai Wan, Hong Kong, when a hacker causes the coolant pump system to overheat. Soon after in Chicago, the Mercantile Trade Exchange gets hacked.

The Chinese Government and FBI believe the hacking was caused by a Remote Access Tool (RAT). Enlisted with finding the hacker, Dawai (a military officer in China’s cyber warfare unit), and his sister find the RAT code was written by FBI agent Barrett and Nicholas Hathaway, who is serving a sentence for computer crimes. In exchange for his help, Hathaway asks for a reduced sentence, however if he fails to help find the hacker he will be sent back to prison.

The hunt for the hacker takes the partners from Chicago to Los Angeles and Hong Kong to Jakarta in this all action drama.

Blackhat comes to cinemas nationwide on February 20.
