Etan Hart makes directing debut with Get Hard
Comedy giant Will Ferrell returns to the big screen this week (Friday 27) with new film Get Hard.
The film, which co-stars Kevin Hart, sees investment banker James King (Ferrell) about to be imprisoned for fraud, worried about his time in the slammer, King hires acquaintance Darnell Lewis (Hart) to help him “get hard” under the false assumption his friend has spent time in jail. Lewis, wanting to provide for his family, does little to prevent this belief and accepts the challenge.
In the build up to its release, the film has attracted criticism for racist and homophobic jibe, something that both stars are quick to defend, speaking to the Independent, Ferrell stated the intention behind the film was to “lampoon the elites”.
Etan Hart, who co-wrote Tropic Thunder and Men in Black 3, makes his directing debut in this new comedy in addition to helping pen the flick.
Get Hard comes to UK cinemas on March 27.
