Sister Act comes to the Theatre Royal
“Ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough, ain’t no river wide enough,” to keep you from seeing Sister Act at the Theatre Royal this summer.
The Divine Musical Comedy, first graced our cinema screens back in 1992, when Whoopi Goldberg took on the starring role as Deloris Van Cartier, a lounge singer trying to make it to the top, witnesses a murder at the hands of her mobster boyfriend.
Deloris is forced to go into hiding and finds herself placed in a convent, where she must join a sisterhood against her will. She soon finds joy however in rejuvenating the church choir and breathing fresh life into that dusty old convent.
Now you can relive the music, the laughs, and the drama all over again as the Newcastle upon Tyne Musical Theatre Company bring their adaptation of the feel-good comedy musical to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle this July.
Directed and choreographed by Sandra Ladler, with musical direction by Michael Lamb, Sister Act – A Divine Musical Comedy is sure to be a hit on Tyneside for its run between Tuesday July 21 and Saturday July 25.
Tickets can be purchased for the show here.
