Royston Vasey is set to share his secrets at the Stadium of Light next month.

The British comic, best known for his outspoken character Roy Chubby Brown, will be telling tales from throughout his notorious career in An Evening With Royston Vasey on Thursday, February 18.

Vasey is originally from Grangetown, Middlesborough.

He said: “Sunderland is like a second home to me.

“I have been filling the Sunderland Empire for 20 years and must have played every pub and club in the city, but never at the Stadium of Light.”

The event, organised by 1879 Events Management, will see the 70-year-old comedian reliving his remarkable rise to fame and discussing how his sarcastic blue humour continues to amuse audiences across the UK.

Mr Vasey added: “I don’t want to spoil the show too much but I can tell you that I’ll be sharing secrets about some of the showbiz people I’ve worked with over the years and how I went from a tough upbringing to selling a million DVDs a year.

“I will also be answering audience questions like how many pies I ate, why I wear a patchwork suit and why I turned down the jungle for half a million quid.

“I look forward to seeing you all there.”

Tickets for An Evening With Royston Vasey at the Stadium of Light are priced at £35 per person, including a three course meal and a welcome drink on arrival.
