Shows from Rihanna’s upcoming Anti World Tour due to take place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland have been cancelled.

The shows will no longer take place because of “logistical reasons”.

Other dates have also been cancelled. It is suspected that potential damage to her vocal chords is the reason, however, Rihanna’s representatives also confirmed to Billboard that postponements were in place because of “production delays”.

With the shows postponed, it was up to the Stadium of Light to make the decision of cancelling.

Sunderland AFC’s commercial director Gary Hutchinson said: “Unfortunately this is something that can happen with major tours and naturally we are sorry for those concert-goers who were looking forward to the show.

“We still have an exciting summer of events planned at the Stadium of Light however, including the sell-out Beyoncé concert, which everyone is looking forward to.”

Customers who wish for a refund for their tickets should go to Stadium of Light box offices, where refunds will be available from Tuesday.

Customers should visit their point of purchase for ticket refunds. Refunds from Stadium of Light box offices will be available from Tuesday.
