Daughter of ex Sunderland striker Gary Bennett has spoken to SR News exclusively to tell how she feels about her Brit award nomination.

Janée Bennett, known in the industry as Jin Jin, is the song writer behind Jess Glynne’s hit single Hold My Hand.

She has been nominated for Best British Single at the Brit Awards.

She said: “I feel like I’ve already won. To be nominated for best British Single and to be against the like of Adele, with her song Hello, has just really blown me away. For us to win would be the icing on the cake.

“To have seen the song go through the production and see where it has got to is just incredible.

“And I’m totally blown away by it all really, I’m just really excited for tomorrow. I’ve always watched the Brits from a young age and to be nominated and acknowledged for my work is so humbling.”

Gary Bennett said in an interview for SR News yesterday: “I’m very proud of her.

“We could have only dreamed of something like this.

“Hopefully, she can win it but the most important thing is that she is enjoying what she’s doing.”
