Preview: The Jungle Book

16th March 2016 Off By Katherine Shanks

When asked about The Jungle Book, the first thing most people visualise is the popular Disney film; beloved by all ages and filled with cartoon characters and light-hearted sing alongs.

However, Jon Favreu’s live-action remake may be set to change this as he offers a spectacular and more realistic take on the classic tale. This comes following the success of other modern day remakes such as Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella.

Newcomer Neel Sethi takes on the role of man-cub Mowgli, who finds that his jungle home is no longer safe after tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) vows to eliminate him.

Forced to embark on a journey to safety, he encounters many jungle creatures along the way – and some do not necessarily have his best interests at heart.

The film is voiced by an all-star cast, including Bill Murray as Baloo, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera and Scarlett Johansson as Kaa.

The Jungle Book hits cinemas on April 15 in both 2D and 3D.
