Assassin’s Creed Movie Trailer 2 Review

16th November 2016 Off By Eamon Richards

The 2nd trailer provides a lot more detail with storyline, characters and setting. It opens with the protagonist Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) held in a cell and talking to a man that seems as though he is about to release him from prison. It also shows that he is quite the bad behaved character by retaliating and causing a bit of commotion with some guards.

Jeremy Iron’s character, Alan Rikkin, then says how Callum Lynch’s bloodline predates 500 years to the Spanish Inquisition period, this leads into the trailer showing that he is being tested on and then wakes up to Dr Sophia Rikkin who is played by Marion Cotillard.

The trailer proceeds with him going on a free roam around the huge facility, then the next main thing to be shown is the animus which is the main centre point of the Assassins Creed franchise where the main character in the video games is lying down on a bed and is connected up by wires similar to The Matrix films.

The Animus transports him back in time by using his DNA and the lines of code that are the same as his ancestor. The main difference of the animus is that it is now a giant claw machine so when he jumps while in the past he is doing the same in the present day.

The final part of the trailer shows Callum lynch in the time of the Spanish Inquisition with a lot of running, assassinating and intense action scenes. The trailer ends with the infamous leap of faith and a thrown dagger to the screen.

The trailer gives a real sense of amazing stunts and action sequences, along with the very interesting scenery of the Spanish Inquisition and also the ultra modern facility of Abstergo, which is where Callum Lynch is held in the present day. The trailer also shows how great a cast of actors and actresses they have brought to the film, with its big budget and no doubt talented special effects team the visuals and sounds are very impressive.

With the gaming industry always evolving it has seen a lot of big franchises enter onto the big screen like the recent World of Warcraft film which gained a lot of success and Assassin’s Creed looks as though it could be a big hit this Christmas.
