Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy sneak preview

Following the thumpin’ wumpa islands expansion for skylanders imaginators, Crash is about to have his own HD Trilogy

The first trailers and gameplay for the Crash Bandicoot HD Trilogy, entitled Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, have been released and here is a little breakdown of what to expect from this HD Trilogy when it lands in 2017.

The trailer mostly shows off gameplay from Crash 1 both the original and remastered versions, but it’s the gameplay reel that has the more interesting parts.

For one, at the end of a level there is a holographic box showing how many boxes you’ve broken and how many there are in the level, as per usual breaking all the boxes in a level nets you a gem, although the animations for clearing a stage without breaking all the boxes are kind of hilarious as the boxes you didn’t break come down on top of crash, and speaking of animations everything has been re-arranged so that its a lot more expressive.

For example, in the original tawna was just held down by two of cortex’s minions however, she knocks one out but is then surrounded by four more henchmen, and after crash, well, crashes through the window, he runs in mid air for a little before looking down then falling into the water and you can more clearly hear him say Uh Oh.

Overall, the intro cutscene is a little more cartoony they also have Lex Lang voicing cortex replacing Brendan O’Brien and a new voice for N. Brio replacing O’Brien once again.

Back to gameplay, one part of the B-Roll is the time trials, it looks like all games in the HD Trilogy will include time trials not just Crash 3. A bonus stage is shown, but it seems the saving system has been reworked, to match that of later games which was one of the major problems with the first crash bandicoot, the fact that there was no save option in the hub world, the only way you could save was by getting a gem or finding a save point in a bonus stage all without dying once.

Overall I cannot wait for the N. Sane Trilogy, and if you were a fan of the original crash games then 2017 will be the year for you, sadly there are no details of a release date and footage of the second and third games has yet to be shown, but things are looking good for this orange mute mutant marsupial.
