Positive early reaction to Lego Batman Movie ahead of February release

6th February 2017 Off By Paul Barclay

The spin off to 2014’s hit film The Lego Movie has received strong reviews before its general release.

The Lego Batman Movie focuses on Batman once again needing to protect Gotham from a cavalcade of villains, while also learning some important lessons about himself.

In his review for the Daily Telegraph, Robbie Collin, said: “there are around four great films’ worth of action and jokes here” while Steve Rose, writing for the Guardian, said: “it doesn’t have the heart, the depth or the novelty of the first Lego movie, but it is relentlessly, consistently funny – which excuses everything.”

With a voice cast that includes Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, Ralph Fiennes and Zach Galifianakis, Warner Bros will be hoping that the early critical praise will translate into the same level of success as The Lego Movie.

Check back later this week for our review.

The Lego Batman Movie is released on February 10.
