Disney’s Ducktales set for 2017 reboot13th February 2017
The revival of the classic disney 90’s show Ducktales, sees Donald’s nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie solve a mystery or re-write history.
Back in the 90’s Disney had a huge line up of classics, with the little mermaid, beauty and the beast, aladdin and the lion king, but what people may have forgot about the classic tv shows they had too, and one of them was Ducktales starring Donald’s three mischievous nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie and honorary Glaswegian, Scrooge McDuck voiced by the late Alan Young, the series also had comic relief pilot, Launchpad Mc Quack, the pilot who crashes any vehicle he gets behind the wheel of, the series consisting of 100 episodes and 1 movie was a huge gold mine for disney as it had clever writing actually good comedy and characters you could identify with.
After the series came to an end a spin-off came in the form of Darkwing Duck, effectively a parody of batman with the ducktales style, that and Launchpad was a recurring character in both Darkwing and Ducktales, but it didn’t last long coming to an end in 1992.
But now, Disney is rebooting Ducktales with an all new cast, featuring community! actor and comedian Danny Pudi voicing Huey, the voice of BB-8 Himself Ben Schwartz will be voicing Dewey, and Bobby Moynihan as Louie.
Saturday night live cast member, Beck Bennet will be voicing Launchpad Mc Quack and Telltale games’ Game of Thrones actress, Toks Olagundoye will be voicing Mrs. Beakley. along with American Singer/Songwriter and current voice of Velma, Kate Micucci voicing Webby Vanderquack.
but by far the one nobody expected was the 10th doctor himself David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck replacing the late Alan Young who sadly passed away last year, Tennant was announced as the voice for Mr. McDuck after the tragic death of Alan young in may 2016, all we currently have for a sneek preview is the entire cast singing the original opening theme song, in addition the first season will consist of 21 half hour long episodes and 2 hour long specials.
No other details have been given at this moment but it has been confirmed that Donald Duck himself will appear through out the course of the series and returning villains the Beagle Boys will be appearing too.
Honestly I’m excited for this new series of ducktales as its a very nostalgic show and I’ve stated before that I love most things 90s, as a result I eagerly look forward to this new reboot
