Preview: John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum
4th February 2019Keanu Reeves reprises his role as John Wick, the unkillable ex-assassin, in the third film of the trilogy.
The plot of the movie looks clear: get out of New York City alive and in one piece. What isn’t clear is who will be the film’s villain as EVERYONE is out for him.
This was set up at the close of the second film, when John broke one of the major rules of the Continental (the underworld organisation of assassins), killing Santino D’Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio) in the hotel’s dining area.
From the trailer, it seems like most of the film is based around John fighting his way out of The Big Apple as the $14million bounty attracts all available assassins to him.
Winston (Ian McShane), the owner and manager of the Continental, says the odds are “about even” of him getting out.
It looks like a woman called Sofia (Halle Berry) and her German Shepard might come to John’s aid in getting out; this is shown as they work together to kill what are probably assassins after the bounty.
This film looks like an interesting watch and hopefully keeps the momentum set up from the previous films. There is only one thing I want to know, though: where is the dog that John had at the end of Chapter 2? It is only briefly shown in the trailer.
As this entire franchise started because someone killed John Wick’s dog, let’s hope no more die.
