Review: Sonic The Hedgehog Trailer (2019)

Review: Sonic The Hedgehog Trailer (2019)

1st May 2019 Off By Lucie Simon

Based on the global blockbuster game, Sonic The Hedgehog is set to be released on the 8th November 2019, being one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Our favorite childhood character hits our screens with his adorable facial features and green eyes. However, does this represent the speedy hedgehog we all know and love? With the Producer of Fast and Furious, Paramount Pictures releases the official trailer, creating a sense of nostalgia for the audience.

The trailer looks fantastic. My childhood coming to life through the Paramount Pictures film creating a couple of hours of nostalgia. The well known and loved actor James Marsden plays Tom Wachowski, who is Sonic’s friend throughout the movie. From Hairspray to Enchanted, James has taken another film under his wing adding to the adventurous value of the film. Despite the sense of nostalgia for the older audiences, Sonic The Hedgehog is primarily aimed at younger children with the graphics being very child-like rather than those in the Fast and Furious films.

The fast-paced movie makes it relatable to children with its comedic elements. One of the characters which stand out in the trailer, other than Sonic voiced by Ben schwartz, is the villainous Dr. Robotnik played by Jim Carrey. Moreover, despite his fantastic humour adding a comedic value as well as driving the narrative forward, Dr. Robotnik doesn’t physically look like the character we would all of imagined. But why isn’t he an egg shape?!

All in all, I think that every child needs to go and see this global blockbuster film from November 2018.
